John R. Sedivy

Nearly three years ago I left the comforts of corporate life to take the entrepreneurial
leap. When I started Analytica it was merely an extension of my former profession and
specialized in technical and later business consulting. There was little creativity involved
and for the most part I had played it safe with exception to the risks inherent to
entrepreneurship.

My thinking started to change when I read Re-Imagine! by Tom Peters, specifically the
discussions relating to creativity, design, discontinuous change, and the emerging role
of women. I believe this book was a slight prompt which later helped me “re-imagine”
my business and open my mind to creativity as a serious pursuit within business.

Over time I attracted a management team of professionals who possessed talents
different, yet complimentary to my own, not the least of which was creativity and the
ability to execute on said creativity. Surrounding myself with those possessing
complimentary creative capabilities helped fill in the gaps and maximize the true
potential of Analytica. Today, rather than simply execute the ideas of others, we develop
our own ideas and execute these ideas into true products. In essence, by making a
conscious decision to further cultivate our foundation in creativity, we have evolved into
a consumer products company which plays a stake in improving the lives of others.

I believe that Your Creative Brain is the next evolution of creativity that I, and Analytica
will undergo. Interestingly enough, Your Creative Brain had come along while I was in
the midst of transitioning Analytica to consumer products. Your Creative Brain has
opened my eyes to creativity as a foundation to innovation and has convinced me of the
need to treat creativity as a trait, similar to leadership, which should be continually
cultivated within myself and Analytica.
